Everton hand full-time contract to 16-y/o gem

Highly rated teenager Braiden Graham has signed a full-time contract with Everton along with 11 other scholars, the club have announced [2 July].

The Northern Irish forward, 16, has committed his future at Goodison Park after signing a deal with the Toffees.

Everton picked out 12 scholars who went through a presentation before signing their full-time contracts with the club.

Graham was one of those to sign, having moved from Linfield where he broke the record of becoming their youngest-ever player at just 15 years and 137 days old.

Graham moved to Goodison Park when he was just 16 years old and has clearly impressed to land a contract with the club.

There is plenty of opportunity for him to further impress for the Toffees given the issues with finance that have been very public over the years.

This has been calmed by the potential new ownership of Dan Friedkin, who may look to utilise his existing links with Roma moving forward.

With that being said, the youth academy may prove to be something that Sean Dyche looks to utilise moving forward.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been linked with a move away, so moving forward there could be opportunities in forward roles.

Graham is young and is probably a long way off regular appearances for the Everton first team but has played men’s football before.

This experience may stand him in good stead moving forward, especially being one of the highly coveted players to sign as a scholar at Goodison Park.
