Everton in contact over last 24hrs to hurry up new signing for Dyche - Sky Sports

Everton have made contact with Napoli to speed up a deal for Jesper Lindstrom, according to Sky Sports Italy.

As reported by the broadcaster online (17 July), the Toffees made contact with the Serie A outfit on Wednesday.

In addition to Everton, other teams are also interested in signing Lindstrom.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (12 July), the Danish winger is a top target for Everton. However, they face competition from Aston Villa, who have tabled a bid worth £25.2million (via Il Mattino, 16 July).

It is no wonder that the Toffees are trying to hurry up a deal for Lindstrom.

If Unai Emery’s side are also involved in transfer proceedings, then that complicates things for Sean Dyche.

Should it be a choice between Goodison Park and Villa Park, there is every chance that Lindstrom would lean toward the latter due to the club’s involvement in the UEFA Champions League.

Therefore, Everton will be looking to beat their Premier League rivals to the punch.

Lindstrom didn’t enjoy the most impressive debut season with Napoli, but the player is still relatively young and could rediscover the form that saw him earn a move to the Serie A with a transfer to a new club.

Dyche is in need of some attacking reinforcements, and he will be hopeful that the club can get this deal across the line.

However, it doesn’t appear to be straightforward, and supporters at Goodison Park now face an anxious wait.
