Everton player to undergo medical and quit Goodison after holiday - Fabrizio Romano

Everton star Amadou Onana will have his Aston Villa medical after returning from holiday ahead of a £50 million move, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer specialist has reported (14 July) that the Toffees are “preparing documents” with the Villans ahead of a deal for the midfielder.

The Belgian will undergo his medical as soon as he returns from his holiday with Aston Villa ahead of completing a £50m move to Villa Park.

A deal for Onana will include potential add-ons and a future sell-on clause which could benefit Everton in the future.

The Toffees will have known that some stars would be preparing to depart Goodison Park this summer.

Now it appears that Onana will become the latest name to be moving away with a £50m fee mooted for the midfielder.

At 22 years old, there is no surprise that there is high level interest in the Everton star who has plenty of potential and a high ceiling.

With the transfer fee involved, Sean Dyche could be given more budget and free reign in the market to improve his squad moving forward.

After already adding Iliman Ndiaye to his squad, the Englishman will now want to improve his midfield if Onana is to depart.

The Toffees may also have more hope that they can keep hold of Jarrad Branthwaite who has been heavily linked to Manchester United.

Although losing Onana will be a blow, losing the midfielder may prove to be the catalyst for a more positive overall transfer window.
