Armando Broja is more likely to sign for Everton than Stuttgart this summer, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Writing via his personal X account on Saturday (22 June), the German reporter claimed that the Chelsea striker, 22, is on Stuttgart’s shortlist to replace Serhou Guirassy. However, it is understood that a Bundesliga move is “unlikely” with a Premier League deal “more realistic” at this stage.

Plettenberg adds that Everton and Wolves are in hot pursuit of Broja with AC Milan also keen on the Albania centre-forward.

Will Everton sign Armando Broja from Chelsea?

Broja struggled through the 2023/24 season.

He scored just one goal in 13 Premier League appearances for Chelsea before joining Fulham in the January transfer window. However, despite moving to Craven Cottage in a bid to rekindle his form, the Albania international failed to find the net once and didn’t even manage a start for the Cottagers.

Broja definitely has talent.

In the 2021/22 campaign, he scored nine times in 38 total appearances on loan at Southampton and was touted to do well on his return to Stamford Bridge.

Unfortunately, a serious knee injury hampered the Slough-born striker and he hasn’t really looked the same since.

Everton might need to find a new striker this summer with Newcastle United ramping up their pursuit of Dominic Calvert-Lewin [Sky Sports].

Calvert-Lewin finished last season strongly but if he can bring in a lot of money, it might be a good idea for the Blues to cash in due to his inconsistency and injury issues.

While Broja might be fairly young as he turns 23 in September, he has also shown similar qualities to Calvert-Lewin in the fact that he’s had injuries and has struggled to get back firing since.

Maybe he needs a full season of starting matches and maybe he’ll get that at Goodison Park if Sean Dyche sells Calvert-Lewin and signs the Albanian, who is currently at Euro 2024 in Germany.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have now issued contact with their Premier League rivals to sign a midfielder who recently won the Champions League.
