Exclusive: Arsenal plan on sending £30m player out on loan next month, they know asking-price is too high

Arsenal are making plans to trim their squad even further and TBR Football understands one of Mikel Arteta’s big money signings will be next to go.

The Gunners are close to signing Riccardo Calafiori but they are also in the midst of sorting out exits for a number of players.

Emile Smith Rowe is close to signing for Fulham, while Eddie Nketiah has interest from Marseille and teams in England.

Reiss Nelson, too, is also the subject of interest from teams as Arsenal look to trim the fat and bring money at the same time.

And now, TBR Football understands another one of Arsenal’s internationals is set to leave.

Arsenal planning to send Aaron Ramsdale on loan

TBR Football understands that Ramsdale’s reps believe Arsenal will allow him to leave on loan in August and that Southampton are also in the mix to sign him alongside Nottingham Forest.

TBR understands that Ramsdale is hopeful of sealing loan move. Arsenal know it’s unlikely anyone meets the asking price of around £30m and they are realising a loan would help maintain his value.

It’s believed Arsenal have looked at how Manchester United dealt with Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood in terms of maintaining value in their assets.

Arsenal paid around £30m to bring Ramsdale in from Sheffield United and he was initially a key figure in helping turn things around for Mikel Arteta.

However, the signing of David Raya has pushed him down the pecking order and Ramsdale is believed to be wanting first-team football now.

A number of clubs are keen on Ramsdale, with the likes of Forest and Newcastle among those linked in recent months.

Ramsdale is not actively kicking up a fuss but there is an acceptance among both camps that a move is the best option this summer.
