Exclusive: Man United starter changes his mind over last-gasp Turkish move after deal agreed

Man United midfielder Casemiro rejected a loan move to Galatasaray late on Thursday, sources have told Football Insider.

The 32-year-old had initially agreed to join the Turkish giants after they had agreed the terms of a loan deal with United.

But Casemiro then changed his mind at the eleventh hour and is now set to stay at Old Trafford beyond the closure of the Turkish window, which shuts later on Friday.

The Brazil international had been linked with a move to the Istanbul club following his disastrous performance in Man United’s 3-0 defeat to rivals Liverpool.

Football Insider revealed (September 4) that Galatasaray had made Casemiro a priority target as they looked to bolster their midfield.

The defensive midfielder has started all three of United’s Premier League matches this season after speculation over a summer-window transfer.

He was directly at fault for two of Liverpool’s goals in Man United’s 3-0 defeat before being hooked off at half-time.

Casemiro lost the ball in his own final third twice, allowing for a clinical Luis Diaz to score twice and effectively end the game in the first half.

Man United now sit in 14th having lost two of their opening three Premier League games with pressure building on Erik ten Hag.

Football Insider revealed (September 6) that the Dutch manager is seen as a “dead man walking” at Man United if he doesn’t improve results.
