Exclusive: Sunderland & Wolves send scouts to watch Celtic sensation

Wolves, Fulham, Ipswich, Sunderland and Burnley watched in-form Celtic striker Daniel Cummings continue his stunning scoring run on Wednesday (27 November), sources have told Football Insider.

Cummings scored his fifth goal in five UEFA Youth League games to clinch a 1-0 win against Club Brugge.

The 18-year-old forward now has 22 goals in 20 age-group games this season.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month (8 November) that the Celtic hot-shot is being tracked by a host of English clubs amid his contract situation at Parkhead.

Cummings, who has come through the ranks with the Hoops, is out of contract next summer and could leave the club for a minimal fee with cross-border compensation only €310,000.

A host of Premier League and EFL clubs have now firmed up their interest by watching the striker sensation in person.

As well as in European competition, Cummings has also been prolific for Celtic’s B Team in the Lowland League this term.

He has scored 17 goals in 15 appearances for the second side, who play in Scotland’s fifth tier.

The 2006-born ace signed his first professional contract with Celtic in July 2022 but is yet to make his senior debut for the club.

He has hit 29 goals across 42 games in Scotland’s Lowland League since making his senior debut two years ago.

Celtic are no strangers to losing top young talent, with Liverpool’s Ben Doak, Brentford star Aaron Hickey and Watford’s Rocco Vata all walking away from the club during their youth development.

At the senior level, Brendan Rodgers’ side sit top of the Scottish Premiership and are well-placed to progress to the knockout stage of the Champions League.
