Exclusive: Swansea City, Preston & Hibernian race to sign striker

Swansea City, Preston North End, and Hibernian are chasing St Johnstone star Adama Sidibeh ahead of imminent transfer missions, sources have told Football Insider.

The trio are among a number of clubs set to watch the striker, 26, in next Monday’s Scottish Premiership opener against Aberdeen as they weigh up moves for him.

Sidibeh has proven to be a revelation for St Johnstone since joining the Scottish Premiership club from non-league side Rylands at the end of the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old was instrumental in saving his club from relegation last season scoring five goals in 15 games to help Saints stay up and his performances have caught the attention of several clubs in England and across Europe.

The rapid forward has broken into the international scene following his exploits for St Johnstone and marked his international debut for Gambia with a goal in the 5-1 win over Seychelles in World Cup qualifying earlier this summer.

St Johnstone face uphill battle to keep Adama Sidibeh

Sidibeh may have been a late bloomer but he’s certainly making up for time since joining the Scottish Premier League side.

St Johnstone are Sidibeh’s first professional club and the striker has repaid their faith with nine goals in 17 appearances across all competitions.

Without those goals, the Scottish club would likely have been relegated after only avoiding the drop due to goal difference.

Any of Swansea, Preston, or Hibernian have the opportunity to sign a real diamond in the rough in what would be a low-risk deal.
