Expert View: £60m-rated forward could demand £200k/wk to sign for Tottenham

John Wenham does not believe Pedro Neto will join Tottenham this summer.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose feels the forward’s demands will be too high.

It comes after a report in talkSPORT (21 May) revealed that Neto is on Spurs’ radar, with Wolves ready to listen to offers of around £60million.

But Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – can’t see a move materialising.

“Timo Werner has returned to the club, and he will be on big money,” Wenham said.

“Neto would want £200,000-a-week, and I don’t see that happening.

“Tottenham aren’t going to have two players on the left side on big wages.

“Therefore, I don’t see Neto joining Spurs.”

Ange Postecoglou would benefit from the arrival of Neto at Tottenham

While it might cost big money, Neto would be a game-changing signing.

He demonstrated his quality for Wolves last season.

And under Ange Postecoglou, the Portuguese winger could thrive.

It would be a far more exciting signing for supporters than someone like Werner.

Whether or not this move happens, if Spurs want to go to the next level, this is the level of players they should be looking at.
