Expert View: Tottenham must sell first-team forward before signing £60m-rated PL ace

Bryan King claims Tottenham will need to sell Bryan Gil to make space for Pedro Neto.

The ex-Spurs scout believes the club already have enough wide players on their books in North London.

As reported by Ben Jacobs via Give Me Sport (8 July), Tottenham value Neto at around £45million, while Wolves want £60million for the 24-year-old.

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has suggested Gil might need to be moved on first.

“I think they need to move players on before signing Neto,” King said.

“There isn’t a shortage of wide players at the club, that is for sure. I think a wide player would need to be moved on before signing Neto.

“It would help free up funds as well as space in the squad.

“Gil for example, he is someone who will need to be moved on before they can even think about this transfer.”

Neto would be an exciting addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

He has proven his quality in the Premier League and would have the ability to get supporters on their feet in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Signing Neto would be a real statement of intent ahead of next season.

As a result, supporters will be hopeful of Daniel Levy completing this transfer.

However, it is true that the club already have plenty of wide players within their squad. Therefore, it might be wise to clear some space before bringing in another winger.

And Gil would certainly be the first player in that position who Postecoglou will be keen to get rid of.
