Fabio Silva sends Rangers man new message after what he did v Ross County

Fabio Silva has reacted after Danilo scored his first goal for Rangers after his long-term injury in the Gers’ showdown with Ross County.

Philippe Clement’s side picked another three points in the Scottish Premiership season with a 6-0 win at Hamdpen Park on Saturday (24 August) to keep the pressure on Celtic at the top of the table.

While Cyriel Dessers and Rabbi Matondo’s strikes stole the majority of the plaudits, Danilo capped off a fine performance late on as he scored his first goal in 2024 and left former Ibrox loanee Silva in awe.

In reply to the Brazilian’s Instagram post (24 August), Silva commented: “You deserve it so much daddy! Flyyyyyy” followed by a blue heart.

Silva certainly isn’t the most popular figure in Glasgow following his loan spell at Ibrox last season, but this comment shows that he enjoyed his time at Rangers and clearly bonded with his temporary teammates.

Although Danilo’s situation has been unclear over the last few weeks and pundits have slammed Clement for not using the Brazilian more regularly, Saturday’s win showed that he is getting closer and closer to full fitness.

It will have meant a lot to the striker to get off the mark for the calendar year and season after so long on the sidelines. It may not have been the most difficult of finishes, but to Danilo, it will have felt like a Puskas contender.

Hopefully, the forward will be able to remain fit and available between now and the end of the season as he will provide Cyriel Dessers with some much-needed support as the Gers look to get their hands on the title.

Even if he can only manage cameos in the near future, fans and pundits won’t mind too much if he keeps getting on the scoresheet.
