FCSB owner questions Philippe Clement after new reveal v Rangers

FCSB owner Gigi Becali has questioned Rangers boss Philippe Clement ahead of the Europa League showdown at Ibrox on 24 October.

Emanuel Rosu has reported that [16 October] the Red and Blues are set to field a weakened team.

Now, Becali has doubled down and taunted Clement ahead of the fixture, questioning whether the Light Blues will be able to handle a loss [Daily Record, 22 October].

“We have no secrets,” he said.

“I have already told Rangers my team. Let’s see how smart the Rangers manager is. If we were to beat Rangers with our second team, I mean, how would they cope? We will still play a good team in Glasgow.”

Clement has come under pressure in recent weeks, and the 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock means that upcoming games are crucial for the Belgian’s future at Ibrox.

Therefore, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Becali is using every trick in the book to throw off the Rangers boss.

As things stand, the Bucharest outfit are struggling domestically, sitting fifth in the table.

However, the Light Blues have some cause for concern as well after recent performances, proving the fragility throughout their squad.

In the Europa League, the Bears have already lost to Olympique Lyon 4-1, and the FCSB game is a much more realistic opportunity for them to get three points.

Apart from the Romanians, the Gers have to face the likes of OGC Nice, Manchester United and Tottenham in their remaining group games.

Clement can’t let these words get to him, and he must make it six points from nine at this early stage of the competition.
