Finance Expert: Tottenham have money for Kane replacement and other new transfers

Dan Plumley has admitted that Tottenham “absolutely” have money to spend on three new key transfers they may need.

Spurs have already confirmed the £40million signing of Archie Gray from Leeds United after a quickfire move, with more set to come.

The football finance expert insisted there is still the issue of replacing Harry Kane, as well as two other new transfers needed to push for the Champions League.

“Absolutely,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.

“We’ve always had that with Spurs, we’ve always had the argument of they can spend and the fans saying well go and spend and really put a marker down.

“We have seen that in some years, but not across the board and the other side of the coin with a player like Archie Gray is that he is one for the future, but if you put him to that squad alone and look at where they finished last season, does that one player get you back into the Champions League? Probably not.

“There is still an issue there with replacing Harry Kane and probably one or two more additions that need to come in and the fans will be looking at that to see if the club are going to have a real go, whether or not Spurs do that is anyone’s guess.

“We have seen them sometimes go that kind of level and sometimes not, but I think certainly, it probably needs more investment over the summer.”

Tottenham ready new striker transfer

Ange Postecoglou was crying out for that big-name striker throughout his first season, with Son-Heung Min and Richarlison not consistent enough in that role.

Kane returning to Spurs has already been touted, but that won’t happen this summer so another big-name transfer could be on the cards.

With £40million already spent, it’s looking like a big summer is ahead for Daniel Levy.

In other Tottenham news, a claim has emerged on Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey undergoing his Spurs medical ahead of a potential transfer.
