Forest now make contact to sign £25m player amid rumours Edu could join as new Sporting Director - journalist
❗️
Nottingham Forest are the surprise package of the 2024/25 campaign so far.
After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, the Reds currently sit third in the Premier League, with Nuno Espirito Santo overseeing just one defeat in ten outings.

Chris Wood is also in the form of his life, netting eight goals in ten Premier League appearances this season – only Erling Haaland has more.
Amid the excitement of a potential European push, there has been an interesting development as Edu Gaspar resigns from his role as Director of Football at Arsenal.
TBR Football understand Edu could now join Nottingham Forest as Evangelos Marinakis targets the Brazilian – who oversaw the signings of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and others in north London.
Amid the rumours of that potential appointment, Nottingham Forest have now made contact to sign a precocious talent in Mathys Tel.
Nottingham Forest submit Mathys Tel enquiry
Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany has now claimed that Nottingham Forest have been in touch with Bayern Munich to ask about the 19-year-old.
Tel – who Tottenham also admire – has struggled for game time under Vincent Kompany so far this season, making just one start in the Bundesliga as the likes of Harry Kane, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise, Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane provide fierce competition.
Plettenburg believes Werder Bremen are also keen to sign the France U21 international, although the teenager has no plans to leave the Allianz Arena and is keen to fight for his place.
Evangelos Marinakis would excite fans if he managed to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich
If Nottingham Forest can find a way to sign the Bayern Munich No.39 in January, it would be a major coup.
The Sarcelles-born wonderkid is such a special talent, that Bayern Munich decided to spend £25m to prise him away from Rennes when he was just 17 years of age.
Tel has since impressed when called upon in Bavaria, scoring 16 goals in 2,230 of action, but there is no doubt his career is stalling under Kompany right now.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the Frenchman could become Edu’s first signing at Nottingham Forest, if the South American does end up at the City Ground.
