King moots Tottenham to agree 'Wise' transfer for Juventus star as meetings held

Bryan King has suggested that Tottenham could benefit from signing Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli.

The ex-Spurs scout thinks it could be “wise” for the North London club to offer Fagioli an exit route from Italy, with Ange Postecoglou having reportedly already held transfer meetings with technical director Johan Lange ahead of January [via The Telegraph, 9 December].

As reported by Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale via X [3 December], Fagioli is one of the players Spurs are interested in ahead of the winter window.

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks this deal could bear similarities to previous moves for Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

“I do question why Fagioli has struggled at Juventus,” King said.

“He is playing for a great club. Perhaps he needs a new challenge, something to help him get his career back on track. Therefore, if that is the case, this could be a wise move for both him and Tottenham.

“We saw Kulusevski and Bentancur revitalised after they moved to the Premier League. If Spurs decide to move for this player, who is full of potential which he has demonstrated, it could give them another option.”

It is clear that Postecoglou needs reinforcements, with the Australian needing a “remarkable” turnaround to keep his job until the end of the season.

Therefore, Spurs fans will expect their club to be busy in the January transfer window.

And it appears as though Fagioli is one of the players who could be brought in. The 23-year-old has struggled this season after previously showing signs of promise. Therefore, some fans might feel as though it would be best to avoid a transfer.

However, it wasn’t too long ago that two other struggling Juventus stars were brought in during a January window, and those moves proved to work out quite well, especially in the case of Kulusevski, with the Swede’s transfer value skyrocketing.
