Four Lads share immediate reaction as Rangers announce Connor Barron

Four Lads Had A Dream have shared their immediate reaction after Rangers confirmed the signing of Connor Barron from Aberdeen.

The 21-year-old ran down his contract with the Dons, prompting transfer interest from clubs all over the United Kingdom, and the Gers have now been named as the winners.

With 76 appearances since making his first-team debut in 2021, Philippe Clement looks to be adding a very talented youngster to his squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. [Rangers FC]

Taking to X on Thursday (20 June), he wrote: “Right. I really like this one. Plenty of scope for progression and hopefully we can help him reach his potential. Welcome to Rangers,” with a clapping emoji.

Rangers announce summer signing of Connor Barron

Following Ryan Jack and John Lundstram’s exits this summer, fans will have been extremely worried about the club’s lack of depth in the midfield ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Those same fans will be instantly relaxed following the end of the Barron transfer saga, however, with Clement adding a very sought-after player to his arsenal already.

While the youngster only notched one goal and three assists in the Scottish Premiership, including the relegation playoffs, his ability on the ball, ferociousness when winning the ball back and range of passing are needed.

Clement made the club aware of his intentions ahead of the summer transfer market, and that was to rebuild the squad in his way. That is exactly what he has done so far.

Football is a cut-throat sport when it comes to transfers and the current players at Ibrox are learning that quickly. It is unlikely that business is finished for the Scots despite the smaller budget.

Barron is joining Clinton Nsiala, Jefte and Oscar Cortes, who has re-signed the club on a season-long loan, with Leon Balogun also having his contract extended.

In other Rangers news, Hamza Igamane has agreed a deal at Ibrox, with travel updates on his transfer emerging.
