Gary Neville was left in hysterics as Fraser Forster pulled off a save after two howlers in the Tottenham win over Manchester United on Thursday.

The England giant handed the Red Devils two goals in the 4-3 victory on 19 December, which saw Ange Postecoglou reach the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.

After conceding those goals, Forster decided to kick the ball away after a long-range strike from Amad Diallo, with Neville not believing his eyes.

Speaking live on Sky Sports [19 December, 21:40], Neville was crying with laughter at the save from the under-pressure goalkeeper.

“It’s like when an outfield player goes in net at the end of training,” he said.

Tottenham and Manchester United embarrass themselves

Forster will have been a relieved man to watch Heung-Min Son’s corner float over the head of Altay Bayindir, with his blushes spared.

Either way, the standard of goalkeeping and defending on show was nothing short of ridiculous given their standings in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou were both seen pulling out their hair and shaking their heads, as they could hardly believe what they were watching at times.

After Postecoglou’s claim that being a manager was harder than the Prime Minister was rubbished, maybe some changed their minds after watching what he has to deal with.

Thankfully, Spurs kept their spot in the EFL Cup and still have that chance of silverware in the second season under Postecoglou.
