'Good move' - Four Lads react as Rangers want to sign attacker at Champions League giants

Four Lads’ Stevie Clifford has delivered his verdict as Rangers have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich attacker Yusuf Kabadayi.

Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed on 5 June that Gers are among several strong contenders to sign the 20-year-old this summer.

The German left-winger spent last season on loan at Schalke 04.

Clifford told Rangers Review on 6 June at 13:11: “If you’re going to get a backup to him [Oscar Cortes] like somebody on loan and this boy [Kabadayi] makes sense because we should have good relations with Bayern considering we turned around Malik Tillman for them and you know kind of enhanced his reputation and they’ve sold him on for £12 or £12 and a half million which benefited us as well fantastically.

“They should surely be looking at that and I would think if Rangers were to go knock in the door and say look we could give this guy a platform or for a loan they would look at that kind of favourably because they would be looking at what we did with Tillman.

“This is a good place for this boy to go and flourish. We can potentially give him that platform and Rangers would be a good move for him.

“It makes sense for me if we’re looking for a left winger that maybe they will pick up somebody on loan to back up Cortes.”

A loan move for Yusuf Kadabayi would make sense for Rangers

Kabadayi’s profile as a young, versatile attacker who can play across the front line aligns with Gers’ recruitment strategy under Philippe Clement, who is looking to add depth and competition in attacking areas.

The club’s positive relationship with Bayern Munich, stemming from the successful loan and subsequent sale of Tillman, could facilitate a deal.

The Champions League giants should be more inclined to loan Kabadayi to Ibrox, considering the positive impact the Scottish club had on Tillman’s development and subsequent transfer value.

Furthermore, Kabadayi’s experience in the German second tier with Schalke 04 suggests he could adapt to the demands of Scottish football.

His potential as a backup to Oscar Cortes would provide Rangers with quality depth in the left-wing position.

A loan move would be a low-risk option for the club, allowing them to assess the 20-year-old’s suitability for the Scottish Premiership without committing to a permanent transfer.

In other Rangers news, a Premier League midfielder with “great quality” is now up for grabs this summer amid a recent development with a move to Ibrox on the cards.
