John Textor appears to have all but confirmed that he’s close to completing his takeover of Everton after sending Orel Mangala a message.

At midnight on Saturday, 31 August, after all the deadline day chaos ended, Textor took to Instagram to say a few words to the Toffees midfielder.

The Belgium international sealed a deadline day loan move to Goodison Park from Lyon, a club that’s owned by Textor.

Textor then wrote on Instagram: “Congratulations Orel. You certainly look good in blue.”

This comes after the American admitted that he’s focusing on the Toffees takeover after failing a total buyout at Crystal Palace.

Apart from the message to Mangala on a very public platform, Textor also follows the club on social media – another indicator that things might be close.

The comment about looking good in blue subtly hints at his impending association with the club.
