Oliver Glasner has been backed to turn things around at Crystal Palace despite speculation surrounding his future at Selhurst Park.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes “it will come eventually” for Palace this season.
Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter is another manager who has been linked with taking charge at Palace should the club part ways with Glasner.
Crystal Palace are still capable of turning the season around
“He’s been brought in for a reason, Glasner,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“He did it at the end of last season, I said so many times, the results turned, but the performances turned.
“They were a good watch Palace last year; they were less defensive, they scored goals, they went forward, they won games.
“But actually, you know, no wins this season where they are, and you struggle to see where Palace’s next win is going to come from.
“There’s only a certain amount of patience that managers have and we’ve seen it before how many times with de Boer at Palace, Viera as well when they go away from the tried and tested method of ‘we need to stay in the Premier League we’ll get a manager that keeps us in the Premier League.’
“Glasner was the go-between, I thought he was the hybrid he was the one that was going to change things, slowly turn things around, and then actually progress them in a different style in a different way.
“Only one other manager has got less than Oliver Glasner after eight games, Mick McCarthy years ago at Wolves, so it’s not a good place for them to be in.
“But, you look at the bottom of the table, there’s a lot of teams that are struggling down there, and the thing you can say is they’re still in touch, you they’re not cut adrift, but the worrying thing is they just need to get that first win.
“They’ve just got to start winning, you look at the team, I still don’t worry about Palace.
“It will come eventually.”
