Growing acceptance that Moshiri decision now complicated for Everton takeover - report

Farhad Moshiri has received several bids to purchase Everton, and there is a “growing acceptance” that the volume of offers has complicated his decision, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The report on 11 June states that it is unclear what timeline Moshiri is looking to make his decision within.

He had originally been thought to have favoured a quick deal but the flurry of interest may prolong proceedings at Goodison Park.

Could Everton be set for another long takeover saga?

Everton fans will certainly hope that this episode does not drag on into another long takeover saga, having lived under a cloud of uncertainty throughout the 2023/24 campaign as 777 Partners failed to complete the purchase they had agreed to in September.

Moshiri does have plenty to consider, however.

The queue of interested parties includes a consortium led by Vatche Manoukian, another party spearheaded by Andy Bell and George Downing, Roma owner Dan Friedkin and MSP Sports Capital, among others.

It is difficult to ascertain the merits of one group against another, though supporters will be encouraged that the bidders include three fellow Everton fans in the form of Manoukian, Bell and Downing, while Friedkin’s ownership of Roma provides a compelling case study of the American’s approach.

If a decision can be reached quickly, Toffees fans will be all the happier – but it is more important that the right choice is made.
