Everton will prioritise solving their ownership situation before turning their attention to the summer transfer window, according to Football London.

The outlet reported on its website on Monday (10 June) that the Toffees will look to solve the issues at the top of the club, as Farhad Moshiri looks to get rid of his 94.1 per cent controlling stake at Goodison Park.

This news emerged following links between the Blues and Chelsea striker Armando Broja, which have since been labelled wide of the mark as Everton will not be paying a £30million fee for one player amid their off-the-field issues.

Are Everton close to making any new signings during the summer transfer window?

Moshiri is keen to end his ties with the Merseyside club and that means it is unlikely the current chief is going to sanction a multi-million pound push to redevelop Sean Dyche’s side before he walks away from Goodison.

It is clear the current squad could do with a couple more additions to continue to progress under the Englishman, but they are unlikely to get that under a regime which has allowed them to flounder near the bottom of the Premier League.

Luckily, it does seem like there are a number of parties interested in taking control of the club in the near future. Hopefully, a deal can be reached so that one of these prospective buyers can help fund a recruitment drive at some point this summer.

Until then, it feels unlikely that any signings will be made unless new loan deals or free transfers can be completed. It may not be as exciting as signing a new number nine for £30million, but it is the position the club finds itself in.

If everything goes to plan, maybe things will pick up later in the summer and Dyche can finally make one or two big changes.
