Guglielmo Vicario transfer news at Tottenham as ‘Mindblowing’ update emerges

Guglielmo Vicario is unlikely to leave Tottenham anytime soon unless a “mindblowing” offer is presented, according to Calciomercato.

In recent weeks, the Italy international has been linked with a return to Serie A, with the likes of Inter Milan said to be interested.

Vicario is said to only be thinking about staying at Spurs, but it has been suggested that offers over £50million could tempt the club to sell.

In hindsight, Tottenham managed to strike a bargain with the deal for Vicario, who came to North London from Empoli in the summer of 2023.

Since then, the 28-year-old has cemented his place in between the sticks at Spurs and has pulled off some terrific saves.

After the departure of Hugo Lloris, it was difficult for the club’s faithful to imagine getting someone as good as the French World Cup winner.

However, Vicario has quickly proven his qualities at the club, and it would not make sense for the board to approve his departure even if a massive offer is received.

The experiment with Pierluigi Gollini should be a warning for Tottenham regarding the difficulty in identifying potentially world-class goalkeepers.

Although Vicario has come under scrutiny for being one of the weak links when it comes to defending from set-pieces, his shot-stopping ability can’t be questioned.

Hopefully, Daniel Levy will be able to show restraint even if presented with an audacious bid for the Italian.
