'He'll score goals' - Pundit thrilled as Tottenham in advanced talks for new striker signing

Paul Robinson believes Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri would thrive under Ange Postecoglou’s leadership at Tottenham next season.

According to Vamos Mi Sevilla [6 June], Spurs are in advanced talks to sign the La Liga striker this summer, with Sevilla setting a £21.2million price tag.

Despite notching 20 goals in all competitions this season, Sevilla are open to bids for the star striker due to the club’s current financial situation, and Spurs could take advantage this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “He’s a good player – I like him. He’s played at the top level, scored goals, and proven himself at international level and in La Liga. He’s led the line well for Sevilla and plays the way that Ange Postecoglou wants to play – on the front foot and will put in the hard yards.

“He’ll flourish in the Premier League. It’s the type of league that he will enjoy, he’ll score goals, and he’s a player that I like. He makes very good runs, he’s intelligent, and he’s of an age now where he’s scoring goals regularly and has proven himself at the top level.“

The 27-year-old has been a star performer for Sevilla over the past few seasons, racking up almost 200 appearances and 73 goals since arriving from Leganes in 2018.

With 18 goals in 58 international caps for Morocco, En-Nesyri has been impressing on some of the world’s biggest stages, but it seems the Spanish club are unable to keep him for much longer.

Spurs are still attempting to fill the void left by Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich last summer, though En-Nesyri is a very different type of player.

The forward would add a much-needed figure to the front line, combining with the likes of Son Heung-Min, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski in attack.

In other Tottenham news, it is just a “matter of time” before another player leaves the club.
