'I dream about that' - Everton star reveals Goodison Park exit desire in next three years

Everton midfielder Amadou Onana reveals that he aims to play for a bigger club in the next three years.

When asked about his future on international duty, the Belgium international stated that while he is committed to the Toffees, he does not know what lies ahead.

He’s also iterated that he will do everything to ensure his dreams come true.

He told Hamburger Abendblatt on 8 June: “I have the approach that everything I dream about can come true. I dreamed of becoming a professional, which I became at HSV. I dreamed of moving to France and playing for a Champions League club, which I achieved with Lille.

“And I dreamed of playing in the Premier League, which Everton made possible. It’s actually true that every step in my career is planned.

“I want to be a much better player. And my goal is to play for an international world club in three years. I also want to have qualified with Belgium for the 2026 World Cup in America in three years. I dream about that. And I will do everything I can to make these dreams come true too.

“I have to and will answer this very professionally: I’m under contract with Everton – and I’ll leave everything else to the media. I’ll just do my best at the European Championships and then we’ll see.”

Everton could look to cash in on Amadou Onana this summer

It’s understood that as the Toffees require a big-money sale this summer to meet PSR guidelines, the Belgian is the one they’ll be open to parting ways with over Jarrad Branthwaite or Dominic Calvert-Lewin. [Sky Sports]

The club may consider selling Onana if his value significantly increases following a strong performance at Euro 2024.

A successful tournament could attract interest from top clubs and potentially lead to offers that Everton cannot refuse.

Selling the 22-year-old would not only provide a substantial financial boost but also allow them to address their PSR concerns.

Moreover, if Onana’s performances at the EUROs demonstrate his potential to become a world-class player, the Toffees might see this as an opportune moment to capitalize on his market value, especially if they believe they can reinvest the funds into strengthening other areas of the squad.

In other Everton news, a £94.2billion update has emerged as the Toffees takeover undergoes yet another twist.
