Ibrox View: Rangers must make Philippe Clement sack decision now, time is right

Rangers may be left with no choice but to sack Philippe Clement on Saturday.

The Bears looked dreadful again as they limped to a 1-1 draw against Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox on 23 November.

It leaves them eight points behind Aberdeen and potentially 11 points behind Celtic as they entertain Hearts at Tynecastle in the late kick-off

Rangers to sack Philippe Clement?

Mark Guidi recently suggested that losing to Celtic in the Scottish League Cup final on 15 December would be the “last straw” for Clement, but can he make it that far?

The Light Blues have been dreadful for months now and were snatching close wins to paper over the cracks, but hobbling to a draw against Dundee United is not good enough.

It would cost Rangers millions to pay Clement off [David Edgar], but for the good of the club, it may be a decision that has to be made within hours, never mind waiting.

After shutting down links with Belgium this week, it is likely this performance scared them away anyway with Ibrox News learning the Belgian FA is in “deep trouble”.

With a new era starting in Govan in the boardroom, the time has come to mark that with a new manager, who is capable of bringing success back.

Clement is not that man.
