Ibrox View: Rangers must up offer for Euro striker after what club official said

Rangers will need to increase their offer for Albion Rrahmani if they are to sign the forward from Rapid Bucharest this summer after what the club’s chairman said.

As first reported by Kosovan Football on X, the Gers have been long-linked with the Kosovo international following his stellar campaign in Romania.

Since that first report, the Glasgow-based outfit have been consistently linked with the striker and there was hope of a deal being concluded.

However, in an interview with Romanian outlet Prima Sport (16 June) Rapid Bucharest president Viorel Moldovan shared that the club have received a bid for their star man but it’s not yet at his “level and value”.

“There is, at the moment, an offer for Rrahmani, which, from our point of view, is not at his level and value,” he said.

“I can’t say from whose side, however we want Rrahmani to continue with us. Moreover, he is under contract with the club, he is a very important player for us and we hope that he will help us to achieve our goals.

“It is not easy to manage such a moment, things can be tempting when you hear that you have offers, maybe for the better, but he is a balanced boy, an ok boy, I think we will still have him”

Why Rangers should continue their pursuit for Albion Rrahmani

The Gers are readying themselves for a massive overhaul of their squad across the summer transfer window.

Phillipe Clement has already been busy adding to his squad ahead of a renewed assault on the Scottish Premier title next season.

Brazilian left-back Jefte was the first to arrive whilst Clinton Nsiala was the next through the door.

Jefte’s arrival was expected, however, he could be in for a bigger role with the first team than he initially expected as Ridvan Yilmaz has also recently been linked with a move away from the club.

Despite the impending departures of some players, Clement is still on the lookout to add new talent to his squad.

Hence, why despite seemingly not yet meeting the asking price for Rrahmani, the Glasgow-based outfit should continue their pursuit of him, especially if they want to dethrone rivals Celtic next term.

The Kosovo international played a total of 26 games for Rapid Bucharest and managed to contribute to a total of 24 goals during that time.

He was signed just last August by the Rapid Bucharest for a record-breaking fee in the Kosovo SuperLeague (£515,000.)

In addition, compared to Rangers’ latest target Hamza Igamane, his return is much greater and could make him a much more valuable asset to Clement’s team.

In other Rangers news, the club are going to take the money for one Ibrox ace this summer.
