'I'm sorry, It's crazy' - Kris Boyd empties both barrels amid 'Mess' at Rangers

Kris Boyd has slammed Rangers for leaving the fans in a lurch about the opening games of the 2024/25 season.

Due to work taking place at Ibrox, there is the possibility of the team being unable to play the initial part of next season.

However, fans have not been informed about the delays which has led to frustration and Boyd has called it out.

Speaking to the Scottish Sun on 28 June, he said: “Rangers have claimed the hold-up is down to delays with steel coming in from Asia. Apparently a project manager has already carried the can and been relieved of his duties.

“I’m sorry, these excuses don’t wash. It’s nowhere near good enough. This whole situation needs to be addressed properly by Rangers.

“The club’s bosses were vocal last season about the state of Dundee’s pitch after multiple postponements — and rightly so. But I bet Dens chief John Nelms is thinking to himself now, ‘At least we had a stadium to play in . . .’

“It’s crazy that Rangers have got themselves in this mess. I find it hard to believe really.

“Listen, these Ibrox upgrades have been planned for a while, and I am all for making sure every supporter gets the best possible experience of watching their team.”

Kris Boyd has every right to be fuming at this Rangers mess

Boyd has every right to be fuming at the club’s handling of the Ibrox delays and fans will likely agree with his assessment.

With the new season approaching, the club has yet to confirm where their home games will be played, leaving season ticket holders and hospitality package buyers in the dark.

The Sky Sports pundit rightly points out that this situation is unacceptable, especially considering the significant financial investment fans have made.

The timing of the stadium upgrades seems poorly planned, potentially impacting Gers’ performance in crucial Champions League qualifiers, where the Ibrox atmosphere is often a significant advantage.

Furthermore, the uncertainty and potential relocation to Murrayfield or Hampden could disrupt the team’s momentum and home advantage, making an already challenging start to the season even more difficult.
