'I'm sorry...' - Keith Jackson goes on Rangers rant live-on-air amid selection 'Madness'

Keith Jackson has slammed Rangers for not picking Danilo in their Europa League squad for the league stage.

The Brazilian striker was injured at the start of the season and returned to action a few weeks ago post a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

This is why the club opted to leave him out of the squad even though there are games to be played in November and December.

Jackson, a Daily Record journalist, said on 9 December at 6:10: “I’m sorry. There is just no way of explaining to me, why, at the start of the season, you’re submitting your squad list for the Europa League, you know it’s an extended competition and you know, because your medical department is telling you that ‘Danilo is probably going to be back by mid November’.

“Why wouldn’t you put him in the squad? It’s madness.”

Rangers make a huge mistake by not selecting Danilo

Throughout the season, Gers’ attackers, including Cyriel Dessers, have not been able to consistently deliver in terms of goals or impactful performances in Europe.

Danilo, despite his injury, was expected to return by mid-November, a time when the club would have benefited from his quality and goal-scoring ability.

With the Europa League’s extended schedule, having an additional striker like the Brazilian would have been a strategic advantage, especially considering the lack of firepower from their existing options.

The decision seemed shortsighted, particularly when considering the need for depth in competitive matches where every goal could make a difference.

Hopefully, it does not cost the side against Tottenham as the attacking players are going to have to be extremely clinical.

Spurs are unlikely to give anything away so whether it’s Dessers or Hamza Igamane leading the line, they may have their work cut out.

In other Rangers news, an “incredible” development that has emerged from Ibrox in recent days has left a pundit shocked.
