Alan Myers has insisted that Everton are looking for more than two new transfers this summer.
The journalist reported via X on 17 July that the Toffees will want more than just another new defender and winger at Goodison Park.
This comes ahead of Amadou Onana leaving the club after Everton accepted a £50million offer from Aston Villa in recent days [Fabrizio Romano].
Everton ready multiple new transfers at Goodison Park
After falling victim to the Premier League’s PSR regulations last season and being deducted a total of eight points, the Toffees are looking to come back stronger than ever in 2024/25.
Sean Dyche has already welcomed the likes of Iliman Nidaye to the club in a bid to improve the Toffees’ attacking options.
Onana is on the cusp of joining Aston Villa, and, although his move will hinder the Merseyside club’s midfield somewhat, the sacrifice of the Belgium international is seemingly worth it in the grand scheme of things.
That’s because across the entirety of the summer window thus far, Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite have been continually linked with Goodison Park departures.
And, although Onana’s move has come to fruition, thanks to this influx of cash, it gives Everton a stronger chance of keeping ahold of star man Branthwaite this summer.
The defender is arguably one of Everton’s most important players and the fact that the club now finds themselves in a stronger negotiating position should a bid come in can only be good news.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are readying themselves for the transfer of Arthur Melo this summer.
