'I'm Sure' - Man City have already found De Bruyne & Grealish replacements

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Man City will have already identified their preferred choices to replace the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed a move to the Saudi Pro League will be an option for the duo and other City stars this summer.

De Bruyne has been widely linked with a Saudi move and has recently spoken out to claim he is “open to everything”, admitting he could earn “an incredible amount of money” in the Middle East.

The Belgium international has just 12 months left to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Meanwhile, Football Insider first revealed in April that Man City are willing to listen to offers for Grealish this summer following an uninspiring 2023-24 campaign for the winger.

City have already allowed Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez to go to Saudi and also lost Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer last summer (2023).

Man City ‘know exactly who they want’ to replace De Bruyne and Grealish, says Wyness

Wyness claimed the English champions won’t be “desperate” in the market and will “know exactly who they want”.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “They’ve got a strong lineup on the football side – Pep, Txiki Begiristain, Ferran Soriano and more.

“There will be plans in place. If De Bruyne goes, they’ll have replacements in mind – and the same for Grealish.

“They’re very clever when it comes to succession, they’ll know exactly who they want.

“It’s never a desperate situation, they’ve always got it under control.

“I’m sure City will be prepared and have succession plans in place.

“Saudi seems to be the biggest option for these players. I do see some big names going there again this off-season.”
