Injury Expert: Rangers player unlikely to play full 90 minutes v Kilmarnock

Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz is unlikely to play the full 90 minutes against Kilmarnock on 20 October due to his recent thigh injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that as he’s been out for so long and lacks match sharpness, he will be eased back into the first-team fold, getting bounce minutes off the bench.

Gers travel to Rugby Park to take on Killie in the SPFL on Sunday and are five points behind Celtic in the title race.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

“Based on the comments by Clement, I would expect him to get bounce minutes prior to anything close to 90 minutes.

“Hard to say how long it might take for a return to 100 per cent but that typically requires a multiple run of games and consistent minutes.

“It’s fair to say he will not play the full game this weekend as he’s been out for a while.“

Ridvan Yilmaz is needed as Rangers are struggling in the SPFL

Yilmaz was among the best players in Philippe Clement’s first few months at Ibrox but has suffered injury issues since then.

When the Belgian took over, Borna Barisic was the first choice, but the Turkey international showed his worth quickly.

Hopefully, he will return to full fitness sooner rather than later and plays a key role in the club’s success this season.
