Mikel Arteta isn’t afraid to give players chances in his Arsenal team.
Indeed, players who are on the fringes can quickly find themselves playing key roles in this Arsenal team.
Last season, both Jorginho and Jakub Kiwior went from being bench players to bona fide starters, and now, another Arsenal fringe option could be set for the same sort of internal promotion.
Speaking on KS1TV, Steve Kay has been discussing Fabio Vieira and his role at Arsenal.
The journalist reported last week that Arsenal have decided they’re not going to sell Vieira, and now, the reporter says that he’s actually a big part of Mikel Arteta’s plans heading into next season.
Fabio Vieira set to get more chances
Kay shared what he knows about the £35m player.
“I was excited when I heard it. I’ve always known that Arteta is a big fan of Vieira. From what I know he loves him to pieces from what I’ve been told he’s a big part of Arteta and Arsenal’s plans next season.
“I’m a big fan of him, when he was in Portugal this was the next big thing, I’m glad we’re keeping him. Let’s hope he gets a chance next season, and it looks like he’s going to.”
Vieira is a talent
As Kay says, Vieira is a top talent.
During his time at Porto, the midfielder was seen as a real prospect, and he was seen as a coup of a signing when he arrived at the Emirates a couple of years ago.
Sadly, injuries have been an issue that have hampered Vieira in recent times, but now that he’s over those fitness problems, he could be set for a big season with Arsenal.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Vieira gets on with Arsenal next season, as it looks as though a big opportunity is on the horizon.
