Jarrad Branthwaite decision made in one change - Confirmed Everton starting XI v Brentford

Sean Dyche has made one change to his Everton starting XI for the Premier League clash against Brentford on Saturday.

There were doubts over Jarrad Branthwaite, but he has been given the nod in defence at Goodison Park on 23 November.

Meanwhile, Dwight McNeil has returned after missing out on the trip to West Ham before the international break, with Orel Mangala dropping out.

Sean Dyche gambles with Jarrad Branthwaite decision

It is no secret that Branthwaite is so important to the Merseyside-based club and it is a relief to see him start against Brentford.

However, it is also a gamble from Dyche as the England international now faces the risk of suffering another injury setback.

The 22-year-old made his long-awaited injury return in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on 28 September but went on to miss the following two games. Dyche will be hoping that is not the case this time.

Branthwaite lines up alongside James Tarkowski, Ashley Young and Vitaliy Mykolenko in defence, with Jordan Pickford behind them.

Fans will also be glad to see McNeil back in the lineup as he plays in the attacking midfield role with Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom on either side. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, meanwhile, leads the line.

With Mangala dropping to the bench, Abdoulaye Doucoure moves back further in midfield and will play alongside Idrissa Gueye.

While Everton are winless in their last three games, there is hope that they can claim all three points this time.

Dyche clearly has a magic formula to win against Brentford, having beaten them in all three games he has faced them as the Toffees manager.

Frank and Co. also have a terrible record on the road in the Premier League this season, losing each of their five away games.

In other Everton news, a new update on a potential swap deal with Roma in the January transfer window has dropped.
