Jim White completely agrees with what Celtic fan said about Rangers live on talkSPORT

Jim White has agreed with a Celtic fan after saying Rangers should get lots of tickets at Parkhead for the Old Firm in September.

The Gers have confirmed that there will be no away supporters (14 August) at the first derby of the campaign with an agreement yet to be agreed.

In response to this news, one Celtic fan has spoken out on talkSPORT (15 August, 11:10am) on his experience as a match-going fan.

He said: “From a selfish point of view, I’ve been in the stadium with no away fans and I can say they have not been missed. It takes away as a showpiece event from a TV point of view.

“It is a very strange experience when someone scores and there’s a deafening silence. I would like the Celtic board to just give Rangers the tickets, none of this tit-for-tat nonsense.”

White was in complete agreement with the supporter as he replied: “You would like Celtic to come out and say they’re going to give Rangers a load of tickets?

“I’m with you on that. I’d say that is doable is it not?”

There is something somewhat dystopian watching Old Firm games where the away side score and are met with a weird silence.

For one of the biggest games and rivalries in world football, it is truly bizarre and something that needs changing.

Fans thought they were finally going to be able to return to these fixtures, which are always the best of the season, but that won’t be the case.

It appears that the Gers are looking to get any sort of advantage over their rivals as they can by keeping their fans out of Ibrox.

With that being said, John Bennett and Co. could be better placed worrying about their own stadium situation having begun the campaign at Hampden Park.

Fans aren’t happy with that scenario and probably would have welcomed Celtic fans to Ibrox in September to form some sort of atmosphere that they can’t in the national stadium.
