Football Insider opinion

Sunderland currently sit atop the Championship table and their young star is crucial to maintaining their promotion push.

The teenage midfielder has been a standout performer this season, with three goal involvements (two goals and one assist) in 13 matches.

His recent wonder-strike against Derby County highlighted his class, showcasing his ability to step up in decisive moments with skill and composure.

Jude Bellingham is now a regular for England and Jobe likely has similar ambitions.

Bellingham’s talent and potential are clear, and selling him now would be a misstep for a club aiming to secure Premier League football.

His contributions not only drive Sunderland’s on-field success but also symbolise their commitment to developing young talent. Allowing him to leave could disrupt the team’s rhythm and send the wrong message about their ambition.

For a team in the hunt for of top-flight return retaining Bellingham isn’t just about his individual brilliance—it’s a vital step toward long-term success and sustainability.
