John Terry has just reacted to news out of Liverpool today

The transfer window may have shut, but Liverpool have just pulled off another exciting move, this time involving a brilliant young talent.

Liverpool have made two senior signings this summer, getting Giorgi Mamardashvili on their books and bringing Federico Chiesa to Anfield.

Although the Reds weren’t the busiest in the transfer window, Arne Slot’s impressive start shows that the team remains strong and optimism is high.

All the top clubs will also focus on their academies, looking to scout and bring in the best youngsters around with a view to turning them into first-team stars.

Liverpool have always been one of the best at this, and now they have signed another brilliant young talent with a bright future ahead of him.

John Terry and Fabrizio Romano wish Rio Ngumoha well following Liverpool switch

A few months ago, speculation emerged linking the Reds with a move for England youth forward Rio Ngumoha, who left Chelsea over the summer.

On Wednesday, Fabrizio Romano reported that Liverpool had finalised all of the formalities to sign the 16-year-old.

Every transfer between two Category One academies goes through a five-step investigation process before being signed off.

And now, Ngumoha has confirmed his move on Instagram, posting a picture of himself at Anfield with his Liverpool shirt and saying he’s delighted to sign for the Reds.

Plenty of Liverpool fans expressed their excitement at seeing Ngumoha at their stadium, and some of his Chelsea peers wished him well, including John Terry, plus Romano.

What Ngumoha could bring to Liverpool academy

Back in July, the Liverpool Echo reported that the Reds were set to sign ‘one of the best young talents in the country’.

Chelsea youth team expert Parth Gupta told the Merseyside outlet: “Ngumoha has been a winger who has been talked about for quite a while in the academy world and it doesn’t take too long of watching him to see why.

“He’s a specialist-in-dribbling winger, predominantly on the left-hand side, who is fully confident in his one-on-one ability and is fearless in that sense.

“He’s played majorly Under-16 football so far, with a few appearances for the Under-18s, so it’s not like many would’ve been able to watch him a huge amount, but the glimpses everyone has seen through broadcasts and clips are definitely exciting.

“It’s hard to talk about a (then) 15-year-old too much, and one’s very aware of the potential consequences of doing so.

“But if he takes his opportunities, which he no doubt will get at Liverpool due to his talent and the way the club works, I think a lot of people in the country will be keeping an eye on him very, very soon.”
