Jordan Pickford situation delays Everton loan exit - report

Everton are delaying the loan exit of Harry Tryer until Jordan Pickford returns to the club, according to the Derbyshire Times.

The outlet reported on 6 August that any possible return to Chesterfield is “on hold” until the Toffees’ number one returns from his extended break due to international duty with England at the European Championships.

Tryer has said himself that he would be more than happy to return to the club but at the end of the day, it’s Everton who need to make that decision for him.

Everton should sanction the loan ext of Harry Tryer before 30 August

Tryer was on loan with the national league side last season and performed to a high standard.

He managed a total of 12 clean sheets across all competitions throughout the 43 games that he played.

And, despite being just 22 years old, he helped the club gain promotion from the fifth tier and even came away with the League Title.

There’s no denying that Jordan Pickford will be the Toffees’ first-team goalkeeper for the foreseeable future.

But, there have been murmurs that, due to their involvement in pre-season, Sean Dyche could offer some of his younger prospects a go in the first team, with Tryer being one of them.

In fact, it was even reported that over the course of the last campaign, the former Burnley manager would often ring a security guard called ‘Tank’ and regularly asked him about the progress the ‘keeper was making.

And, whilst some first-team games would be a good experience for the youngster, there’s no doubt that he’d benefit more from a regular first-team role in a lower-placed side.

In other Everton news, Sean Dyche’s transfer priority before the deadline has been shared.
