King moots behind-the-scenes 'Unrest' amid recent Tottenham manager speculation

Bryan King has suggested speculation linking Eddie Howe with Tottenham could lead to “unnecessary unrest” at the North London club.

The ex-Spurs scout doesn’t think Howe is the right man to manage Tottenham.

As previously reported by the Mirror (28 September) Staveley is in “advanced talks” to invest in Spurs, having recently been spotted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (via Lilywhite Rose on X, 13 October).

According to Alan Nixon via Patreon (13 October) Staveley could look to replace Ange Postecoglou with Newcastle United manager Howe should she complete any investment into the club.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think this would be a good idea.

“This sounds like a fantasy story to me,” King said.

“It is certainly a story which could cause a bit of unnecessary unrest. I can’t see Howe being the Tottenham manager.

“Postecoglou is a manager with far stronger opinions than what Howe has got. I just can’t see Howe coming to Tottenham.”

It can’t be easy for a manager to read that another manager is being lined up for their job. However, Postecoglou must shut this speculation out and focus on the task at hand.

At this moment in time, it doesn’t seem as though there are any immediate plans to change the manager in North London. Therefore, all Postecoglou can do is continue to reinforce his position by getting results.

However, should Spurs find themselves on a poor run of form, that will no doubt increase pressure on Postecoglou, especially if this recent speculation is in the back of his mind.
