King reacts as Tottenham agree multi-million player exit, Ange cannot give promise

Bryan King has insisted that Tottenham have made the right decision to sanction the exit of Emerson Royal to AC Milan before August 30.

The ex-Spurs scout believes that the Brazilian deserves regular football now, something that Ange Postecoglou is not able to give him.

Fabrizio Romano reported on August 11 that Royal will land in Milan for medical tests within hours after a deal in excess of £12.8million was agreed.

“I think letting Emerson leave is the right decision,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.

“He deserves a move where he is going to get regular football because Ange Postecoglou can’t promise him that.

“Emerson has been a good servant. He obviously wants first-team football, he isn’t going to get that at Tottenham, he will always be a utility player.

“Therefore, this could be the start of a new career for him, so good luck to him.”

It has been a long drawn out saga with AC Milan, but it looks as though they have coughed up the correct cash to finally get a deal over the line.

King blasted the Italians after a lowball first offer [July 18] but that has since been increased to leave Postecoglou happy enough to green-light the move.

With Pedro Porro the easy first choice at Spurs, Djed Spence could now get a new chance at the club to become a real rotation option, with the door wide open.
