King reacts Tottenham in advanced talks for new striker signing

Bryan King claims Youssef En-Nesyri would want first-team opportunities if he were to move to Tottenham.

The ex-Spurs scout feels that the Sevilla striker could prove useful under Ange Postecoglou.

As reported by Vamos Mi Sevilla (6 June), Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign En-Nesyri, with his current side setting an asking price of £21.2million.

But King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – isn’t convinced that the 27-year-old is first-team quality.

“I think they need a bigger name, someone more exciting up front,” King said.

“However, as a squad addition, En-Nesyri could be useful. Although at the moment he is playing regularly for Sevilla.

“Therefore, he will want to continue playing regular first-team football if he is to make the move to North London.”

There is no doubt that En-Nesyri knows where the back of the net is.

He has scored 73 goals for Sevilla in 196 appearances for the La Liga side, while he has 20 goals at international level for Morrocco.

En-Nesyri is a goalscorer, and he would most likely continue to do what he does best if he were to join Tottenham.

However, the club need a long-term option up front, someone who can replace Harry Kane and guarantee 20-plus Premier League goals per season.

While En-Nesyri does score, he has yet to prove that he can score consistently enough to play for a top-six Premier League side.

As a result, for £20million he would be a brilliant squad player who could fill in in the UEFA Europa League.

However, if Tottenham are looking at En-Nesyri as their main target, then they should consider looking elsewhere.
