King tears into big-money Tottenham star as transfer update emerges in Saudi Arabia

Bryan King doesn’t believe any Premier League club would be interested in signing Tottenham forward Richarlison.

The ex-Spurs scout claims the North London club’s transfer plans are dependent on the future of the Brazillian.

As reported by Saudi Arabian news outlet Al-Riyadiyah (22 July), Al-Ahli have Richarlison and Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus on their transfer shortlist.

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t believe the 27-year-old has lived up to his price tag at Spurs.

“Tottenham signing a big-name striker is likely to hinge on Richarlison,” King said.

“I can’t see anybody being interested in signing him, not in England at least. I doubt there would be another Premier League club that would take a chance on him.

“And it would be a chance because he never looks happy when he is playing football. He certainly hasn’t proven he is a £60million player at Tottenham either, that is for sure.”

Tottenham to sell Richarlison to Al-Ahli?

This would be a transfer that is potentially best for all parties involved.

It is hard to argue that Spurs overpaid for Richarlison when they signed him from Everton in a deal worth up to £60million (via The Athletic, 30 June 2022).

Despite a bright run of form last season, the striker’s time in North London has been largely unsuccessful.

Daniel Levy probably never dreamed he would have the chance to get his money back on the player. However, with interest from Saudi Arabia, a big fee for Richarlison is not unlikely.

Therefore, Tottenham would be wise to accept such an offer if it were to crop up. As for Richarlison, he would no doubt score plenty of goals and make even more money while playing in Saudi.
