Late moves already mooted as Rangers could look at loan transfers - Chris Jack

Rangers will likely pursue new loan signings towards the end of the transfer window, according to Chris Jack.

Writing for The Rangers Review, Jack said that Philippe Clement is more likely to add loan players to his squad as “finishing touches”, rather than first-choice additions.

There will be a mixture of loanees and permanent signings in tow by the time August rolls around, including both young players and more experienced heads to flesh out a rebuilt squad.

With six new faces in already and another five heading out of the exit door at Ibrox, Clement’s squad rebuild is already taking shape, with plenty more new faces likely on the way.

Hamza Igamane means a player in almost every kind of position has been signed – striker, winger, central midfielder, central defender, full-back and goalkeeper – but by the time the window closes, Clement may be able to field an all-new starting 11 at least [Daily Record, 3 July].

At £1.7million, Igamane’s fee is the most expensive outlay on any player so far, and while the club aren’t expected to break the bank this summer, exploring the loan market for alternative targets is a wise move.

Cortes’ arrival from Lens is set to be made permanent in the summer of 2025, and with Clement keen to build a fresh-faced squad with youth at its heart, similar deals for other targets could be on the horizon [Daily Record, 4 June].
