'So aggressive': Tim Sherwood says why Arsenal will score at least five against Southampton today

Arsenal take on Southampton today in what looks like being a banker result for the Gunners to head into the international break with.

Russell Martin’s side have been unable to get anything going since promotion and remain winless.

The Saints have kept to a way of playing that Martin is insistent on them doing and so far, it’s left them coming up short in every game as they’ve been picked apart.

Naturally, a trip to Arsenal is not the most ideal scenario to keep trying to implement the same way of playing.

And according to former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood, that will be Southampton’s undoing as he predicted a hammering at the hands of Mikel Arteta’s men.

Tim Sherwood says why Arsenal will put five past Southampton

Speaking for Premier League productions about the game, Sherwood predicted a tough day at the office for Russell Martin’s men and suggested Arsenal will score at least five times.

“Because they are wide open and just play to their hands. They keep playing it out from the back.

“Arsenal are so aggressive in the press, they will keep nicking it off and they will put it in the back of their net five times,” Sherwood said.

Southampton have got to be careful

Southampton have lost 9-0 twice in Premier League history and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Arsenal get towards that number today.

The Saints have got to get everything right for them to even stand a chance of not being hammered and as Sherwood says here, it could easily be five or more.

Arsenal will be rubbing their hands together at this one if they score early, then it’s going to be a long old afternoon for the Saints.

Still, you never know in football and with one eye on an international break, Southampton might just be able to cause a mini upset if they’re at their very very best.
