Leeds fans all say the same thing about Joel Piroe as shock stat emerges

Leeds United fans are urging manager Daniel Farke to play Joel Piroe as their number nine after he scored four goals from his last four shots on target.

The 25-year-old has made only two Championship starts for the West Yorkshire club but is their top scorer in the competition with four goals.

Three of those goals have come as a substitute, with the Dutchman scoring against Hull City, Cardiff, and Coventry City in the final 15 minutes of the game.

Piroe’s fourth was a little different, canceling out Chris Rigg’s early opener with a lovely close-range effort in the 22nd minute.

Unfortunately for Piroe and his teammates, his hard work was all for naught after goalkeeper Illan Meslier inexplicably misread a 97th-minute back-pass, allowing the ball to bounce past him and into the net, earning Sunderland an unlikely 2-2 draw.

Daniel Farke’s side remain within touching distance of the automatic promotion spots, sitting in fifth, three points behind league leaders Sunderland.

No Leeds United player has scored more than 20 league goals since Chris Wood back in 2016-17, but some fans now believe Piroe could be the one to break the streak if given the chance.
