John Wenham has speculated that Yang Min-hyeok could make his debut for Tottenham in January.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the 18-year-old will need time to settle in at Hotspur Way.
Tottenham previously confirmed via the club’s official website (28 July) that they had signed Min-hyeok from K League 1 side Gangwon FC, with the forward set to join the club in January 2025.
However, as reported by The Chosun Ilbo (14 November), those plans have now changed, with Min-hyeok set to report for Tottenham training in mid-December.
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has speculated that the young forward’s first-team debut could arrive soon after.
“I think from now until the end of the season it will be about him settling into England,” Wenham said.
“It is a big change for him, moving from Korea to England at such a young age. If we were to get lucky with our third-round FA Cup draw, then I could see him featuring in that match.
“However, other than that I think it will just be a couple of appearances for the Under-21s from March onward as he settles in at the club.”
Yang Min-hyeok to make his debut for Tottenham in January?
If Spurs were to draw a so-called “lesser” team in the third round of the FA Cup, that could be the perfect time for Min-hyeok to make his debut for the club.
However, Ange Postecoglou must be careful that he doesn’t push the youngster too hard too fast.
This is a huge change for Min-hyeok, and he is likely to need some time to settle in. Therefore, Spurs supporters would be wise to be patient with their new signing once he arrives.
