Lilywhite Rose claims Tottenham star 'Dreams' of playing for Real Madrid after transfer reveal

John Wenham believes that Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro “dreams” of playing for Real Madrid.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose doesn’t have any issue with the 25-year-old’s recent transfer reveal.

Porro recently said (via El Desmarque, 13 November), “I am focused on my job. I am 25 years old, and at 26 I don’t know where I can be, football is like that.

“My friends send me the (Real Madrid) rumours, it is a compliment – it is the result of a job well done that one of the best clubs in the world is taking notice of me.”

However, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – still believes that the Spaniard is focused on Tottenham.

“If you asked any Spanish person, apart from Barcelona fans, if they’d like to play for Madrid, the answer would be yes,” Wenham said.

“Therefore, I’m not surprised that Porro takes links to Madrid as a compliment. I’m sure that he dreams of playing for Madrid, and quite frankly, you’d want that to be an ambition of his. That shows that he is doing so well for Spurs that the best team in the world are after him.

“However, he has also implied that he is committed to Tottenham where he has a long-term contract. He doesn’t need to say those things. Therefore, I think Porro is doing everything right at the moment in terms of answering those questions.”

Tottenham star Pedro Porro to sign for Real Madrid?

If Madrid were to make a move for Porro, it is hard to see the right-back turning it down.

Therefore, Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that Real Madrid stay away, with the La Liga giants having previously been tipped to sign another Premier League right-back ahead of Porro.

However, should they decide to come calling, a transfer for Porro is expected to cost a lot of money.
