Lilywhite Rose: Tottenham gem in-demand, ‘lots of interest’ in summer loan deal

John Wenham has revealed that Tottenham Under-21 star Will Lankshear is subject to loan interest.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims a host of clubs are interested in the striker.

Lankshear enjoyed an incredible campaign with Spurs’ Under-21s, being named Premier League 2 Player of the Season while scoring twice in the play-off final of the competition as Tottenham beat Sunderland’s Under-21s 3-1 (26 May).

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has provided an update on the 19-year-old’s future.

“Lankshear got himself to 33 goals for the season with two more strikes in the final,” Wenham said.

“It was good for him to finish the season on a strong point.

“There is lots of interest from clubs to take him on loan next season.”

After the season he had, it is clear Lankshear is ready for some first-team minutes.

That leaves Ange Postecoglou with a decision to make.

If he isn’t planning on including Lankshear next season, then the forward should be sent out on loan.

There would be little point in him doing another season with the Under-21s when he has already proven his worth at that level.

Lankshear will be turning 20 next season and he will be keen to get a taste of senior football.
