Liverpool fans tear into Kostas Tsimikas after what he did vs West Ham

Liverpool fans have been left raging at Kostas Tsimikas after his performance in their Carabao Cup victory against West Ham.

Arne Slot’s side cruised to a comfortable 5-1 victory thanks to braces for Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo, as well as a strike from Mohamed Salah, while a Jarell Quansah own-goal got the Hammers on the scoresheet.

However, the focus of many supporters was focused on their left-back after he turned in a “horrid” performance in the clash at Anfield.

The 28-year-old signed a new long-term contract with the club in 2023, and while the length of the contract has not been disclosed, it is set to keep him at Anfield for the foreseeable future.

After his display against West Ham, many fans are beginning to question how he still has a role in the squad four years after arriving from Olympiacos.

His backup role for Andrew Robertson sees him called upon usually late in games or in cup competitions, but fans are now fearing he could cost them results.

Despite the big win against West Ham, his lacklustre display stood out to supporters as a major issue, and they are not happy with the way he played.

Tsimikas has featured four times for Liverpool already this season, but made his first start under Slot during the Carabao Cup clash.

While the eventual result proved to be comfortable for the Reds, the overall performance meant the scoreline flattered the hosts, with multiple players coming in for stick.

However, it was Tsimikas who faced the most backlash from the home crowd, as he was labelled “one of the worst” and “absolutely clueless”.
