Man United will not allow Harry Amass to entertain talks over a move away from Old Trafford, according to the club’s former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who spent over a decade at the club during their most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that the 17-year-old is extremely well regarded and there are high hopes for his development.
This comes after Football Insider revealed that the club are not willing to see one of their brightest academy prospects move to a Premier League rival.
Aston Villa have been linked with a potential move to sign the full-back given his lack of first-team opportunities under Erik ten Hag.
However, United remain committed to his long-term development taking place at Old Trafford and feel he could follow in the footsteps of the likes of Kobbie Mainoo.
Despite not yet having made his senior debut for the club, Amass has built up a strong reputation and has been named on the bench four times this season.
Man United are keen for him to step into the first team in the near future and therefore will not entertain any potential interest in his exit.

Interest from Aston Villa comes as Unai Emery is keen to recruit and develop young talents, while left-back has been identified as a possible area for improvement.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player development and recruitment, insisted that the rumours over a potential departure have likely come from the agents in an attempt to put pressure on the club.
“I know him well and he’s very, very talented,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s been very highly rated for the last two or three years at United and that is still the case now.
“I expected him to make his senior debut at some stage this season, and he hasn’t done so yet despite being on the bench, but it’s only a matter of time.
“They have high hopes for his future at the club, but they’ve got to help him make the step up.
“With Luke Shaw coming back, he might find it harder to get into the first team, but that doesn’t mean United will be willing to let him go.
“But from what I hear, any talk about his future is a line being fed to the press by agents trying to put a bit of pressure on the club.
“As far as I’m aware, they are not interested in letting him leave the club.
“They see his long-term future as a Man United player and I’d expect him to remain so, and to make his mark on the senior team before too long.”
In other news, Marcus Rashford has been told what he must do to stay at the club.
